Submission Guidelines for Political/Psychological
In addition to the general submission policy, political/psychological manuscripts submitted to Cordelia Press must follow the guidelines listed below:
✓While speculative fiction is accepted and encouraged, Cordelia Press does not accept manuscripts which speculate about the motives, lives, or demise of living political figures.
✓In general, current and recent events make for interesting scenarios, though other possibilities are encouraged and expected. If current political events are used, however, the use of living political or public figures is discouraged.
✓Readers of political fiction are interested in--you guessed it--political issues. When writing for this line, keep in mind that the readers are interested in things like international conflict, constitutional crises, and electoral politics, but they know how the last election ended and don’t need it redone for them.
✓If your story also fits into another genre (historical, romance, etc), you may submit to either line. Please do not submit to both lines—if the Senior Editor feels it requires the attention of another editor, the editor will pass the manuscript along.
If you have any questions regarding your political/psychological thriller submission, please contact Senior Editor Michael C. Guilmette, Jr. (SeniorEditors@cordeliapress.com).
