Submission Guidelines for Women’s Fiction/Chick Lit

In addition to the general submission policy, women’s fiction submitted to Cordelia Press must follow the guidelines listed below:

✓Women’s fiction, aka Chick Lit, focuses on modern, urban, young adult women (usually under age 40) and their lifestyles.
✓While fiction in this line includes romantic elements, these manuscripts should go beyond the standard romance story to include the rest of the female lead’s life--family, friends, careers, etc.
✓Examples in this genre include Sex and the City by Candace Bushnell and Bridget Jones’ Diary by Helen Fielding.
